Customer states: The search illumination in the charging flap module does not work. Workshop findings: The search illumination in the charging flap module does not work if the vehicle is only equipped with one charge flap module as standard. The following DTC or DTCs may be logged inthe high-voltage battery charger-J1050-, (address word 00C6):
The search illumination in the charging flap module aims to help the customer correctly plug in the charging connector in dark conditions. A second charging flap module can be ordered as optional equipment on the Q8 e-tron. If the vehicle is only equipped with a single charging flap module, the orientation light does not work. An issue in the OBC software means that the orientation light LED is not activated when the vehicle is equipped with only one charging flap module. If both charging flap modules are fitted (left and right), the lighting is active, and functions as intended. Figure 1.Vehicle with functioning search illumination in the charging flap module.
Figure 2.Vehicle with non-functioning search illumination in the charging flap module. Optimized software introduced in current series production as of week 36/2024. This TSB replaces Pending Service Solution (PSS) TSB 2073481:93 PSS Q8 e-tron: Charging flap module without search illumination; P33E300; B1A8AF3.
Applies to vehicles with high-voltage components: To prevent charging of the high-voltage battery during the software update, the high-voltage cable is to be removed BEFORE the entry of the SVM code on vehicles with high-voltage components. Charging the high-voltage battery during a software update cab damage the high-voltage components.
![]() Always use DoIP when flashing a control module via ODIS in supported vehicles. Activate DoIP, select Administration>>General>>GFF Process>>DoIP communication>>Only allow DoIP communication. This setting will automatically reset when the diagnostic session has ended. You can tell if DoIP is active by observing a red LED on the VAS 6154(A). Follow all instructions in TSB 2011732:00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions. Update the high-voltage battery charger -J1050- (00C6) using the SVM action code as listed in the table below, if necessary: NOTE:ThisMUSTbe done in 2 stages: For stage 1: The SVM code required isC6A015 Follow the instructions on the tester. Now perform a terminal 15 reset for at least 2 minutes. For stage 2: The SVM code required isC6B015 Follow the instruction on the tester
![]() If event memory entry P31E200 is logged as static in diagnostic address 00C6, proceed as follows: Charge the vehicle using AC power for 2 minutes. The event memory entry is then logged as intermittent and must be erased. We recommend that you ALWAYS use a USB cable to connect the ODIS tester to the diagnostic connection for flashing procedures. If available, we recommend using VAS 6154 or VSS 6154A to update control units, as these units are very well protected against electrostatic discharge.
