There isnocustomer complaint; this is found during other service work.

 

Workshop findings:

When working on the vehicle, you happen to notice chafing of the 3-phase wiring in the front underbody area on the passenger side. The photograph below shows the area in which chafing of the 3-phase wiring at the heat shield could occur.

Technical Background

The 3-phase wiring could contact the heat shield and the aramid protection could be abraded.

Production Solution

From production date January 25, 2022, onwards, the wiring and its routing have been modified.

Service

When billing, please always attach photos that clearly show the complaint to DOC-IT. To ensure a reference to the vehicle, the image/video must:

Include the VIN and date.

Must not be edited.

Should be in focus and taken with sufficient light. A high resolution is not necessary.

If appropriate, please mark the location of the problem so that parts analysis has a clear reference to the complaint. Please ensure that the photo documentation does not show any people and/or face, license plates, or customer data.

 

The repair method was communicated at theSOST event in May 2022. It mustonlybe used if the aramid hose has been chafed or abraded.

If there are also any issues with the wire insulation underneath, this repair method must not be used.

The repair instructions can be found in the attached SOST document.
